Controlling hours of use for machinery and forklifts

A forklift or a heavy machine does not add kilometers like a car: it adds hours. And many decisions, such as maintenance or billing a rental, depend on knowing how many.

Engine hours and working hours

Engine hours count all the time the machine was on. Working hours count when it actually produced. The difference reveals lost time, for example machines left on doing nothing.

What you can control

  • On and off through the ignition status, to record each shift.
  • Use per shift: whether the machine was used within the planned hours.
  • Location inside the plant or yard: where each piece of equipment is and where it moves.
  • Zones: alerts when a machine enters a restricted area or leaves the plant.

Maintenance by use

Changing oil or inspecting by calendar can be too early or too late. With real hours, the notice arrives when it is due: you avoid unexpected stops and unnecessary costs.

On large sites

When the yard or plant is very large, long-range wireless sensors (LoRa) can cover the whole site with low battery use.

Specific functions depend on the device and the machine. Tell us what you have and what you want to measure.
